Joanna grew up on the beaches of Bainbridge Island near Seattle, Washington, and the ocean continues to influence her life and work. Her current collection was inspired by the time she spends in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

"Jewelry is an intimate token of our most meaningful events and relationships. I aspire to make luxurious pieces that carry the stories of the women who wear them and can be passed on for generations."

Joanna graduated from Sarah Lawrence College and attended FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). She worked as a designer for companies including Katayone Adeli and Gap Inc.

All J.Lingnau designs are handmade. A portion of J.Lingnau profits are donated to organizations that support the environmental restoration of diamond mines in Sierra Leone.
